Purchased for 20p at the Girl Guides' stall at the Radlett Carnival.

Standard detective story, about a theater near the Thames, a possibly authentic glove that Shakespeare gave his son, a modern playwright, and the usual murder. A pleasant read, with amusing characters. I haven't read much else by this author.

Laurie wrote: I have. I should find some of the earlier books. I think she is from New Zealand. A couple are pretty good but most are fairly routine period pieces. I would compare her to someone like Michael Innes -- reliable, good story, but lacking the zip of a Crispin. If I was at all organized I could find the ones I liked and give you the name, but my place is a mess. In fact I am about to go clean some more!
